The reverb channels were running at one hundred percent wet. When analog circuitry is driven hard, the distortion it introduces is musically related to the input signal: even-order harmonics that add warmth and density rather than harshness. By driving his analog preamps and outboard processing harder than conventional practice would suggest, Franco intentionally introduces small amounts of this harmonic distortion into the live mix.
